Kerala Fried Duck

1 medium duck
1 tblsp chilli powder
1 tsp fresh ground black pepper
1 tsp coriander powder
1/2 tsp turmeric powder
1/4 tsp ground cloves
1/4 tsp ground cinnamon
1 egg
Breadcrumbs
Salt to taste
Ghee or oil
Grated coconut
Lemon slices

Joint the duck. Put the meat in a large pan with the spices and about 900 ml/1 1/2 pints water. Bring to the boil and simmer until the water has evaporated and the duck is tender. Cool duck slightly. Heat ghee in a frying pan. Coat each piece of duck well with the egg and then the bread crumbs. Fry in hot fat until golden brown on both sides. Garnish with grated coconut and lemon slices.
