Italian Pizza

In Italy, pizza is very different from what we in Canada and the U.S. call pizza. For the most part it is just flat bread with tomatoe sauce on it. Sometimes a little bit of parmasan cheese might be put on it. If you get any thing ells in Italy, it is done that way to satisfy the tourists. We in Amarica are used to abundant toppings. I am afraid to say, I am that way too. Here is a simple pizza dough recipe. It can iether be mixed by hand, or by bread machines that have a dough cycle. Enjoy.

Basic Pizza Dough

2 cups all purpose flour

1 tsp salt

2 tblsp olive oil

7 oz water

2 tsp instant yeast

Kneed dough for 5 minutes, till medium stiff consistancy. Let rest 20 minutes.

Grease 12" pizza pan. Roll out dough to fit pan.

Sprinkle lightly with flour and fold in quarters. Gently lift and place in pan. Unfold. Top with favourite topings. Let rest 10 minutes. Heat oven to 400`F. Bake aproxamately 20 minutes, or till done. Check earlier if your oven is hotter than most ovens.
